In order to purchase Season Tickets in PSINet Stadium, the purchase of a Permanent Seat License is required. As long as the seats are renewed each season, the PSL allows the individual owner to control the destiny of his seat. Most major league sports season tickets have been issued by the team, which retains total and exclusive control of all tickets. Once a season ticket is not renewed, the rights fall back to the team who then decides who gets to buy it next. And since the team controls the ticket, fans in some stadiums and arenas have been subject to having their seats taken over for advertisers, improvements or other reasons.
Being transferred to the Midwest? Want your best friend to have your tickets? In the system by which sport season tickets have been controlled previously, this has not been possible.
In fact, most teams in sold-out stadiums don't even permit you to hand down your season ticket rights to your children, favorite niece or grandchildren, much less a special charity you'd like to remember.
Not so for Baltimore Ravens' season ticket holders. Control of your season tickets is turned over to you by the Ravens upon your one-time purchase of a Permanent Seat License, or PSL.
All season tickets in PSINet Stadium will be permanently assigned to Ravens' fans with their purchase of the controlling PSLs. It will be your call who gets your tickets next, as indicated in the PSL agreement document that will be mailed to you. A PSL gives you long-term control of those precious Ravens' season tickets.
What is a PSL?
A PSL is a PERMANENT SEAT LICENSE, a one-time purchase that transfers the rights of the seat from the team to the individual licensee. It is a contractual agreement between the team and the licensee. The funds from the PSLs do not become profit for the Ravens. Rather, that income is used to pay for the costs that the team incurred due to its move to Baltimore. Some of those costs include corporate and personnel relocation, team relocation expenses, a new team practice facility, upgrading the Owings Mills training facility, and NFL league fees. PSLs will cover about half of these costs, with the Ravens paying the rest of those costs themselves.
What is the benefit of owning a PSL?
By owning the rights to the seats, the PSL holder has control over that seat. If the customer decides that he is not interested in holding the seat any longer he can sell the seat to whoever he wishes. For example, he can transfer the rights to the seat to a neighbor or relative rather than having the seat go to a random person on the team's waiting list.
What are the prices for the PSLs?
The prices of PSLs and season tickets are associated with specific zones. Season ticket prices for 2001 have just been announced.

Billings & Payment Deadlines
To better help PSL Owners prepare for their annual payments, Ravens Season Tickets are typically billed in the following manner:

Post Season
PSL Owners will have the opportunity to purchase their seat location(s) for any home playoff games. If necessary, playoff invoices typically would be mailed in November to allow enough time for prompt payment and delivery of playoff tickets. It is our policy that any and all potential home playoff games will be billed in one invoice. PSL Owners will be notified of their options if any potential home playoff games are not played.
Season Ticket Delivery
PSL Owners can typically expect, depending upon the game schedule, that their season tickets will arrive in late July. A signature is usually required upon delivery to insure proper receipt.
