RAVENS SCORED A 44-7 VICTORY OVER THE VISITING CLEVELAND BROWNS

The Ravens scored their most convincing win in team history, a 44-7 victory over the visiting Cleveland Browns. The victory propelled the Ravens to 9-4 on the season and gave them an 8-2 AFC Central record. RB Jamal Lewis rushed for 170 yards on 30 carries and two TDs. Baltimore rushed for 247 yards overall and tied a team record with three rushing touchdowns (two by Lewis, one by Priest Holmes). QB Trent Dilfer threw two TD passes, two yards to Sam Gash 46 yards to Patrick Johnson. K Matt Stover kicked three field goals to set a single season field goal record (31) and reach the 1,000 point milestone. Baltimore’s defense limited the Browns to one TD on the game’s opening drive (86 yards), then shutdown the Cleveland offense for the rest of the game. The Browns managed just 112 yards and five first downs.

Injuries:

WR/PR Jermaine Lewis suffered sprained ribs and did not return.

Notes:

The Ravens’ 44-7 win was their ninth of the season, a franchise high (eight wins in 1999).

The Ravens finished November 4-0 and are now 9-4 in November since 1998. QB Trent Dilfer has won nine consecutive starts in the month of November. He is 18-8 overall in November.

The Ravens have won 13 of their last 18 games.

The 44 points scored is a Ravens’ team record. The 37-point margin of victory is the largest in Ravens’ history.

The Ravens have outscored the Browns 114-26 in four games.

Baltimore’s three rushing TDs tied a team record (three on 11/7/99 at Cleveland).

RB Jamal Lewis rushed for 170 yards on 30 carries and two TDs. He tied a team record with his fourth 100-yard game. He set a new Ravens’ single-season rushing mark today. Lewis now has 1,095 yards, surpassing Priest Holmes’ 1998 total of 1,008 yards.

Lewis has rushed for 357 yards in his last two games, 565 in his last four games, and 658 yards in his last five games.
