Jeff Friday is in his third season in charge of the Ravens weight and conditioning program after spending three seasons (1996-98) as the Minnesota Vikings assistant strength and conditioning coach. Following last season, Jeff was named the 2000 Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. by vote of his peers in the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society.

Jeff put his program in place in 1999, and its really paid off, said Ravens head coach Brian Billick. The fact that we have gone 8-0 in December over the last two seasons indicates that the players are in excellent condition. Jeff knows how to motivate the players and get the most out of their bodies over the long season.

Friday joined the Vikings as assistant strength coach in 1996 after four years in the same capacity at Northwestern University. While with the Wildcats, Jeff worked primarily with the mens and womens basketball teams, although he helped develop the football squad that won the Big Ten title in 1995.

Jeff spent two years as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Illinois State while he worked on his masters degree in exercise science. He earned a bachelors degree in physical education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A Milwaukee native, he attended Marquette University High School. Jeff, his wife, Jennifer and daughter, Hailey (2), reside in Ellicott City, MD.

Coaching Background: 1990-91 (Illinois State); 1992-95 (Northwestern University); 1996-98 (Minnesota Vikings); 1999-2001 (Baltimore Ravens).
